Next month I am adding a 22' stream with another waterfall that will follow the side contour of my patio and run into the pond from the left of these pics.

Travesty, Your pond is nice! How deep is it? the shelves are done nicely too! Pictures don't really show the size of the ponds, how big is your pond? Did you it yourself?

The pond water area is about 12' X 8' and 2' deep. I had a certified contractor install it about a year ago. I am having the same contractor install the stream next month. I more than happy with his work. I had thought about doing it myself, but doubt I would have the results I was looking for. I understand there is a lot of pride in doing it yourself, but I am allergic to physical labor.

I am not sure if you are referring to my pond or not but I will give some information.

The pond is two years old, will be three in August. The photo was taken last May. The pond has three waterfalls. One of the falls you can not see in this picture, the blue flowers on the left are blocking the view.

The flowers that are in bloom are carpet roses (the pink), and blue perennial geraniums, with one feverfew in bloom (the white). I have butterfly bush and black eyed susans for bloom in summer as well as annuals. In the fall I have mums in bloom there. I try to keep it in color all season. The carpet roses seem to keep on going all summer for me.

    still a work in progress

This is my first pond and I love it. I put the pond in on my own, with alot of research on the web. I still have alot of things I want to add and a few things I would like to change. But, all and all I love my pond and want to add another one in the future.

Yes Queeny, I was referring to your pond. Wow, three waterfalls!

Hopefully, I've acknowledged a lot of the pictures on this thread; if not, I apologize and think all ponds are great, (unless of course they look like a dirty mud hole, mosquitos, etc.).

    Welcome jeremiah the bullfrog (cool)

Did you mean to post a picture of your pond? or were you just talking about it? If you're having problems posting picts, there's a thread here that tells you how to do it.

I know that feeling well. I'm just looking at a new pump as mine died about a month ago and It's hard to come up with even that much extra! A waterfalls would really be cool for it tho! Keep up the good work!

    Smile Love It All

    This is one hot forum!
I can spend all day here.
    I love it!
I have had a total of 6 ponds in the past 8 years.
I am down to 3 now.
am thinking of moving outta florida and back up north(born and raised in Jersey)
I have huge plans in mind, but need some more land.
I just want to thank you all for inspiring me and I am SO glad I found people of my own kind who love ponding and gardening.
No one in my neighborhood cares about their gardens or anything. It's a shame. They all say they have no time.
I will be returning to college soon not for what I began with(criminal justice),but for landscape architect.
I'm not sure what the job title is for someone who gardens 24/7 and is in heaven creating ponds and peaceful areas in life.
I would love to learn more than I know now,and go house to house and create
    awesome spaces.
Landscape architect sounds like someone who develops landscaping for large developements, which is what I don't want to do.
Down here, they ignore the water restrictions and don't use much zeroscaping.
This is my life work that I was born for.It just took a lot of years to find that out.
But I am all for it,and am excited just thinking about it.
To me,it is never work, but peace.
Anyone know what I should sign up for in college?
Does it have to include chemistry and physics?
    lol
Take care, and keep up the excellent pics and info!

The best of luck to you Susan, would be interesting to hear from you again and know how and what you're doing.

On another forum that I frequent, there is a retired lecturer that is so knowledgeable. He is constantly talking about chemicals and ponds, so I would say "yes" based on his posts.

    My Brand New Pond Garden!

Well, here is the reason I joined. I've been into aquaria for the past 15 or so years, including a current 46gal reef tank. But here's the finished pond. Of course many of the plants haven't come up yet (just planted), but I'll post another pic when it's all filled in.

Here is our 1st pond Born on July 2005

Here are some photos of the pond from the roof of my shop. I don't have to worry about predators, my dog is very fond of her fish. That's right we call them her fish. She will sit on the edge of the pond and just watch em for hours. She won't get in the water, she's scared. Her name is "Dollar".

We came out one morning to let Dollar out to do her business and my neighbors Lab was right in the middle of the pond. Was my wife mad!
